Best Prenatal Yoga Classes In The Seattle Area

Taking a prenatal yoga class can aid greatly in decreasing back harm, swelling of the ankles and feet, nausea, and many other discomforts that come with pregnancy. A prenatal yoga class can also give you confidence when you need it during labor and birth by teaching you skills to help ease pain like breathing and having more clarity in your mind to focus on what you need to. You also get support and make friends with other expectant mothers you can characterize to. These are the 3 best classes taught in the Seattle area.

Seattle Holistic Center-Wallingford
Located in The Good Shepard Center
4649 Sunnyside Ave N. Room 302
Seattle Holistic Center-Greenlake
7700 Aurora Ave N.
(206) 525-9035 (for both locations)
These classes teach the traditional science of yoga along with childbirth education. This center has rave reviews and I have yet to hear anyone regret taking a class here, all the women in the classes have only good things to say including many birth stories that end with ” I don’t know how I would have made it through labor if I hadn’t taken this class”. Not only does the Seattle Holistic Center offer prenatal yoga classes, but they have a postpartum and parenting program. The prenatal yoga class is taught by highly skilled yoga teachers and was developed by a registered nurse and yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience in the field of yoga and nursing. These classes are offered in 8 class passes that must be purchased beforehand. The passes are also valid for their postnatal yoga classes and last for 6 months. The 8 Limbs Yoga Center was voted best prenatal and postnatal yoga by Seattle Metropolitan magazine in 2008 and by Seattle magazine in 2009. Many women continue through the classes after the birth of their children in the postpartum classes and even attend the kids and family classes. Many of the children who are in the summer yoga camp were once in the bellies of their mother in the prenatal class which goes to show that this is a program that has a long standing great reputation. Yoga Life
Queen Ann Studio
8 Boston St
(206) 283-YOGA
This class can be started as early as your first trimester and can even be started in your last. It is the most flexible that I have arrive by. You can attend this class on a class by class basis which is enormous for those who are a little unsure if it’s right for them and don’t want to spend a lot of money on a whole series of classes. Many yoga instructors take this class to bring it’s teachings to their own yoga centers. They even offer a unusual member special which makes it a class that is very affordable a great thing when you are trying to save some money for furnishing a nursery or buying baby clothes.More information is listed on their website http://www.yogalife.com/prenatal-classes.html
