medical assistant classes

A 5-year-old boy, Hassani Campbell, remains missing in Oakland, California, after disappearing from a parking lot at the back of the store where Jennifer Campbell, his aunt, worked. Left standing beside the aunt’s boyfriend’s BMW for just a few short minutes, Hassani Campbell, who has braces on his ankles, disappeared when Louis Ross carried his little sister around to the front of the store to notify Jennifer Campbell that he was there. A routine that they normally went by, Louis Ross told HLN talk show host Nancy Grace that he at first was not too shocked when Jennifer Campbell went to the back door of the store to let Hassani Campbell in and found that he was not in his normal station. He thought Hassani Campbell might have just been playing around, hiding from his aunt Jennifer. It was soon discovered that he was not.

Hassani Campbell had vanished.

Watching Nancy Grace can be tough at times. One can sigh she used to be a practicing lawyer and a tenacious one at that. Nancy Grace is not one for a lot of equivocation and disingenuousness. But like her or hate her for her interviewing methodology, Nancy Grace gets across that she actually gives a damn. She’s been tough on some (like the mother of missing Trenton Duckett, a 2-year-old Florida boy who remains missing, who Nancy Grace grilled mercilessly, some say to the point of contributing to her later suicide) and not so tough on others. Louis Ross was one of the latter.

Louis Ross told Nancy Grace that it had become routine for him to drop off the children on the two days that he had medical assistant classes. Fragment of that routine was leaving Hassani Campbell to stand by the car while he notified Jennifer Campbell that they were there. He said that Hassani, who has cerebral palsy, sometimes would get frustrated and freeze in place. Sometimes he would be in a sportive mood and hide from them. At first, Ross said, that was what he thought. He told Nancy Grace that his fiancee Jennifer, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child, thought the same at first. But then they couldn’t find him…

Nancy Grace was restrained and quietly sympathetic to Louis Ross on her show. Louis Ross took a polygraph test as soon as he was asked. Jennifer Campbell, however, has not taken one over concerns that the test might affect her pregnancy. But Grace didn’t browbeat him for leaving the child alone — for leaving a disabled child alone. She let him tell the narrative.

And she also found out some helpful information. Louis Ross told her that Hassani Campbell was wearing ankle braces that might not be seen, unlike the leg braces that were stated in the earlier descriptions of the little boy. Ross said that that description might distract people, thinking that perhaps the child was not the missing person because they didn’t see the leg braces. Although Hassani Campbell was wearing shorts when he went missing and the white ankle bracelets might easily be seen, they would not if Hassani was now wearing pants. Ross had a point.

Louis Ross and his fiancee, Hassani and his microscopic sister’s aunt, took in the two children when her sister was unable to provide for them.

The Hassani Campbell story reminds one of the Adji Desir story on the other side of the country. Adji Desir, a 6-year-old developmentally disabled boy living in Immolokee, Florida, went missing when he went outside to play with friends in January. According to the America’s Most Wanted website, Little Adji Desir lived with his grandmother. Police found no sign of foul play and could not rule out that Adji Desir wandered away or was abducted.

Adji Desir understands Creole but cannot speak the language. He speaks only about five words of English. Adji is African American, 3 feet tall and weighs 45 pounds. Anyone with information regarding Adji Desir can contact the AMW hotline at 1-800-CRIME-TV.

Oakland Police continue to search for Hassani Campbell and are asking for any assistance the public can offer. Hassani Campbell is described as being 3-feet-tall, weighing roughly 30 pounds. Anyone with information as to Hassani Campbell’s whereaboouts is asked to call the Oakland Police Department at 510-238-3641.

Taking a prenatal yoga class can aid greatly in decreasing back harm, swelling of the ankles and feet, nausea, and many other discomforts that come with pregnancy. A prenatal yoga class can also give you confidence when you need it during labor and birth by teaching you skills to help ease pain like breathing and having more clarity in your mind to focus on what you need to. You also get support and make friends with other expectant mothers you can characterize to. These are the 3 best classes taught in the Seattle area.

Seattle Holistic Center-Greenlake

These classes teach the traditional science of yoga along with childbirth education. This center has rave reviews and I have yet to hear anyone regret taking a class here, all the women in the classes have only good things to say including many birth stories that end with ” I don’t know how I would have made it through labor if I hadn’t taken this class”. Not only does the Seattle Holistic Center offer prenatal yoga classes, but they have a postpartum and parenting program. The prenatal yoga class is taught by highly skilled yoga teachers and was developed by a registered nurse and yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience in the field of yoga and nursing. More information including schedules and prices can be found here: http://www.seattleholisticcenter.com/pregnancy/pregnancy.shtml

These classes are offered in 8 class passes that must be purchased beforehand. The passes are also valid for their postnatal yoga classes and last for 6 months. The 8 Limbs Yoga Center was voted best prenatal and postnatal yoga by Seattle Metropolitan magazine in 2008 and by Seattle magazine in 2009. Many women continue through the classes after the birth of their children in the postpartum classes and even attend the kids and family classes. Many of the children who are in the summer yoga camp were once in the bellies of their mother in the prenatal class which goes to show that this is a program that has a long standing great reputation. Schedules and prices along with FAQs are listed on their website http://www.8limbsyoga.com/

Yoga Life
Queen Ann Studio
8 Boston St
(206) 283-YOGA
This class can be started as early as your first trimester and can even be started in your last. It is the most flexible that I have arrive by. You can attend this class on a class by class basis which is enormous for those who are a little unsure if it’s right for them and don’t want to spend a lot of money on a whole series of classes. Many yoga instructors take this class to bring it’s teachings to their own yoga centers. They even offer a unusual member special which makes it a class that is very affordable a great thing when you are trying to save some money for furnishing a nursery or buying baby clothes.More information is listed on their website http://www.yogalife.com/prenatal-classes.html
